This version of Burglar Deterrent is designed to work with routines, this allows you to trigger environment sounds to protect your home with your smart security camera or on a schedule.

Make sure to enable the skill Burglar Deterrent: Routines Edition in the skill store, then choose which sound you would like to play when a routine is activated by saying:

Once this is done you can setup a routine to use Burglar Deterrent: Routines Edition. The type of sound you selected will automatically play when the routine starts. For example you could setup a routine to start the skill when your Ring security camera detects motion, or at specific times of day.

Burglar Deterrent is designed to help protect your home from unwanted visitors when you are out. It will give the illusion that your house is occupied using realistic audio to deter potential intruders. A would-be thief will be convinced someone is performing daily activities such as cleaning, talking, laughing, working in the home office and preparing food. This will complement your existing security arrangements, giving you an extra level of reassurance.

Choose the environment that suits the location of your Echo device:
